BLOG CANDY Image Package

Since tomorrow is the 3 month anniversary of my starting this blog, it is time for CANDY!

Between now and when my counter reaches 30,000 I will stamp an extra image (or several) of every stamp I use in my stamping and put in a package for the winner of this Blog Candy offering along with some other goodies I have been putting aside for some lucky reader.

Commenters on this post only (no anons and no international please) will be put in a drawing to receive the package. What you need to do is leave a comment telling me what you love and what you dislike in the stamping blogs you read. What brings you back and what makes you drop blogs from your reading list?

Many of the cards I post have been stamped ahead so your package won't necessarily match what you see posted on my blog. BUT--I have several sets of new stamps that you have yet to see posted here and I am stamping up a storm with them. Those images will be included in the package. It will be like having LOTS of new images to play with! Good luck. Remember to put all comments on this thread only and remember to leave some way for me to contact you.

What a great idea - sharing images. I really enjoy your cards. Like about blogs - simple, fast cards with everyday materials. Don't like about blogs, minute detail on the project i.e. every piece of paper used, every color pencil, etc.

#1 thing that influences my returning to a blog is a sense of shared tastes in stamps or inspiring designs ... and then 2nd would be a tie for the person's writing style, whether they link to interesting tips or challenges or the like.
Happy Blog Anniversary!
later, alligator!

I like tutorials and techniques - the video tuts are nice, but I wish they would also enter a written version - I don't want to watch numerous times in order to take notes for something I would like to try.
I'd love some new images.

It's funny that you asked about stamping blogs...yours is the only one I read daily. I like the card ideas - your photos and descriptions are clear and easy enough to follow. I like that you either link to the companies you talk about or refer back to specific posts if you mention something that was described in detail previously.

I like any blog that inspires me. I dislike (and don't bookmark) the blogs that are strictly "one company" blogs or are more personal than stamping related.

Congrats on the blog anniversary and thanks for sharing with the rest of us!

Oh what fun...thanks for the chance to win some goodies! My favorite thing about a blog is simply pictures of cards. As I do not personally know another stamper it is great fun to see the creations of others. I dislike pictures that are extremely small without a way to enlarge the photo.

Hi Donna!! WOW - 3 months!!??? I love all of the ideas that blogs share. I love hearing about new products or reviews. Great resources, a great deal or just good news that someone is sharing. I also love seeing babies too!!

What I hate is when a blog has music that you cannot turn off..BLEH!! That is one reason I'll unsubscribe from a blog even if I like what they share/show...it scares me out of my pants late at night when their music blasts at you....not to say I don't like music though. I found a song called "Come to me" by Koop on someone's blog and am IN LOVE with that kind of music right now!

Donna, Your blog is one of my favorites. I like to see cards that are simple, classic, cute etc. I am not into collage. I do like to see tutorials on gift ideas, boxes, bags, that kind of thing. I agree with the above person about music that you can't turnoff. The other thing that will make me drop a blog is someone that doesn't post for weeks at a time. (I haven't figured out google reader yet.lol)

Love your blog. I check it every day and sometimes more than once a day to see if you have posted. My favorite blogs are the ones with lots of pictures and ideas. If there is something tricky about the card, I like to know how it is done. My least favorite blogs are the ones that veer away from stamping and get into their family lives. I also agree with the above posters that I really, really dislike the blogs that blare out music. I am often listening to my own choice of music as I read blogs, and don't like the competition--especially when it is so very loud as some are.

Congrats on the success of your blog! As a relative newbie, I love to read blogs that share great sketch designs, as well as tips and techniques for better stamping. I will tend to drop a blog from my list if the blogger takes too long between posts (like less frequently than once per week). Thanks for sharing!

congrats on the great blog! i love to read blogs with ideas whether that's examples, techniques, tips, design ideas, etc. i just got into this blogging world in the past month or so. i haven't found anything yet really that i drop people for.

I enjoy visiting your blog each day (sometimes several times a day). Thanks for all that you share with us.

I love your ideas. My favorite blogs are ones that show photos of easy-to-copy cards (Cuttlebug use is a plus!) and a good story here and there. It's frustrating to have to go to the original site from Google Reader to see the photos, since some of them (yours included!) don't have the photos in Google Reader. Why is that??

I enjoy most all the blogs I look at. I like instructions and samples of cards. I don't like scrapbooking blogs, because I have way too many years of pictures and don't plan to scrapbook. I go back to several everyday because I like a certain style or just fun to see what they are doing next. I don't like alot of personal info.

I love the art. I like reading about the artist and him/her family. I am awed by the complexity of some blogs and how the writers take us as family.

I dont like blogs with ads or tons of flashy stuff. It crashes IE even with DSL. I dont like nasty post because readers dont like what the writer is saying---

I really like the bloggers that write from the heart with humour and love and show enjoyment for the process. Its the writers blog and no one should tell the writer/blogger what to say or post. If all I wanted was photos of cards, there are a bazzillion photo files to search. I want the heart behind the art.

Thank you for offering such fun blog candy:) I visit blogs for cards that are a style I like. I love yours because they are cute images with a clean uncluttered style. That is what is my biggest pet peeve - cards that are cluttered with fibers, primas, buttons, bows, brads, etc all squeezed into one 6 1/2 X 4 1/4 little space. Less is more:)

Robyn said...

Congrats on your blog, well done for such a short time. What I love about blogs are the frequent postings of great cards - what I dislike is those who don't post often. Pretty simple really. Thanks for the chance.

I love to see pictures, pictures, pictures! The nosy-bodyy in me also loves to read about bloggers' everyday activities. I hate blogs with music! If I want to listen to music, I'll put on a CD or the radio. Thanks for the candy op -- sounds like a fun mystery package!

How fun, I love trying for blog candy! Let's see...for me to keep coming back to a blog, I need to see great cards that are done in my style. I also love the blogs that use the same stamp sets that I use. Right now I'm REALLY into papertrey stamps so yep, blogs that use these, I'll visit more often. I also like to see new posts everyday or close to it. Blogs with tips are great too! :)Shellie

I like blogs that are really focused on cards...ones that don't have a whole bunch of personal information. I do enjoy some occasional personal photos, but mostly about cards...love pictures of cards!!

The blogs that are my favorites are ones where the stamper's style matches mine and where they come up with fresh, different ideas. Blogs that are updated frequently and those who share something about the card or technique also are ones that I enjoy. I tend to drop blogs that are not updated and/or if the types of stamps used or techniques are something that I would never do. I also like blogs that concentrate mainly on stamping rather than personal life. Thanks for the chance to win; stamped images would be such a great gift! Happy 3 month Blog Anniversary!

great blgog & candy! I like blogs that are simple and not clogged with so many extras such as ads, music. I don't like it when posts go into too much detail about EVERYTHING used, size of cardstock used, and unnecessary babble. Personally I like stamping blogs without all the personal stuff that's why I chose to get rid of mine.

I love other people's images. It's like borrowing a stamp set and not having to return it! I love to see great cards taken with a moderate amount of good photography in a blog that makes me smile!
Thanks for the chance!

I have several favorite blogs and they appeal to me because they are easy to navigate, written well and photos, instructions, etc are clear and well-done. I usually drop a blog if the style of the author no longer appeals to me or if the blogger is concentrating on one aspect of the craft that I have no interest.
Meanwhile, I love your blog and visit frequently! Thanks for the opportunity for some "candy"!

I visit your blog every time I'm on the computer. I found your blog by way of Kurtis A. Blogs I like to visit demo techniques, share ideas, etc. I, also, don't revisit blogs that do not upload frequently (ie...take 2-3 weeks between, for instance) I also like it when a blogger gives reference to another..I've found many new ones that way! Thanks for all you share. Maggie S

Image sharing is a fun idea and I'd love to win. I like blogs with cards and/or scrapbook layouts that are my style which is clean and simple. Some of the music on blogs will keep me from returning but I enjoy pretty much everything else.

I like tutorials, simple cards, questions to be answered and lots of pictures. Also enjoy bits and pieces of family life. I do NOT care for music on a blog. Congrats on the anniversary.

Hi Mrs. C--
Almost to that magic 30,000! Gosh, that's an impressive milestone-- congratulations!

•What you love and what you dislike in the stamping blogs you read?
I like blogs that are releatively simple (i.e., not too wordy) and use an easily-readable font.
I dislike blogs that are too busy and/or use dark background colors. I find them forbidding for such a light-hearted topic!

•What brings you back and what makes you drop blogs from your reading list?
I keep coming back to the blogs that combine multiple techniques (I'm not a stamping purist. I like punches and using my Sizzix and don't do much coloring-- no talent!)
I drop blogs that feature excessive or limited-to Stampin' Up stamps and/or products. I personally dislike the company and the fact that their products are so ubiquitous. I love seeing new ideas and the products of relatively unknown companies.

Best wishes for the next 30,000!
Mary

Oh I'm glad I'm not too late to enter! I'm so far behind with Google Reader this week! I love stamped images. A blog pretty much has to close for me to drop it. I read alot of them, but I like some great inspiration with a bit of life thrown in once in a while. :)

Looks like I found my way here in the nick of time because you are getting really close to that magic number! Please count me in the running, I'd love to win stamped images.

I check your blog daily, because you update daily. I have deleted a few from my favorites because they go weeks without updating, or their style is too maudlin.
I love to see new ideas, and especially any use of cuttlebug embossing.
I love your bright cheery style.

Well, for one, I love the chance to win blog candy ! I like a blog with pictures and techniques that get my juices going ... I don't like to see blogs that sound more like personal diaries because I get embarrassed when people get so personal and I don't even know them. So I guess I look for a blog like THIS one with lotsa pictures and enough commentary to really get me going on my own projects.

Ellie said...

Congrats on your milestone. What keeps me coming back to blogs are teach tech. as I am a newbie when it comes to stamping and it helps me alot to see how things are do so I can jump along and try. As for what makes me leave a blog.. don't know yet haven't left any! lol.
