Saving scraps will save you hundreds, thousands of dollars over time. I save anything bigger than 2" square. I have a drawer (see photo) where I drop the scraps. When it gets too full I transfer them to a folder or a larger drawer. By having them right on hand, I find myself using them intentionally.
