One Year Ago Today---

I started this blog!! I have had almost 112,000 visitors in just one year. Thanks for reading!

Elaine's Card

I thought I had posted this long ago. It is from my Seattle, longtime GW friend, Elaine. Love it! It came with the penguin stamp gift!

My New Ruby Slippers

Blast from the Past

One of my readers suggested I post cards that are not on this blog but that I have posted either in other galleries or on a blog I had a couple of years ago. So, I will be posting some "blast from the past" cards that are some of my favorites.

This one is done with the MFT set and the "sand" is actually sandpaper!

Excellent Tutorial--Cuttlebug and Nestabilities

This is the best tutorial I have seen on using the Nestablities in a Cuttlebug. It has 3 parts and all 3 parts are very clear and helpful. Click the title of this post and it will take you right to the tutorial.

Bright Flowers

Flowers and punches used are SU. Sentiment and ribbon are Papertrey.

Pastel Birds

The main stamp is called Duet from Inkadinkadoo and I got it from Jacksonbelle Embellishments. The background is Cuttlebugged and I did the little pleated valance with paper and then pierced it and used a pen for the faux stitching. I cannot remember where I got the sentiment.

Dieting for a Month

Actually, I have and have lost 8 pounds. My summer goal is to lose 10 so I am pretty sure I will make it.
The inside of this card says "All I've Lost is 31 Days". The stamps are all from JoAnn. Ribbon from PaperTrey and the punch is Martha Stewart.

Scalloped Sorbet

DP, cardstock, ribbon, stamps are all by PTI. The border scallop punch is Martha Stewart (thanks, Jacki!!)

Owls! Here I go AGAIN!

I swore I would NOT buy more owls. I just sold some of mine, but bought 2 new owl sets not long ago. I do have enough owls, I really do. BUT---when I clicked on Alli's blog this AM and saw her owls (click the subject line of this post and it will take you there and you will need to scroll down to the 4 owls with the pens), I have decided I MUST have these guys when PTI releases them Monday night. I was all set to control myself when I first saw the sneak peaks using them, but her blog just tipped me over the edge this morning. They are too cute and I can think of so many things to do with those patterned ovals that well, I am sold on them.

KS Hydrangea "blind"

I learned this technique over 10 years ago at our LSS. I stamped the images on white cardstock, ran them through the crimper, and then wiped brown ink over the top so it has the effect of a window blind. Sentiment is by Verve Visual. All other stamps are Kitchen Sink.

All stamps by MFT. Background is Cuttlebugged.

SU Zoo!

All supplies are SU. We did this for a 10 club card.

Now That's What I Call Creative

Click the title of this post and it will take you to a most creative blogger! She used bits of colored ribbon to represent the contents of a stamped taco! I had to look several times. Imagiine!

Fish in a Window

I have seen a number of these "bubble window" cards on blogs. First I ran a scrap piece of acetate with a circle Nestie through the Cuttlebug. Then I ran it back through in the Tiny Bubbles folder. Stamps by SU. Ribbon by PTI.

Hit the Beach with a Penguin?

This is made with the penguin (see below) that Elaine sent me. The waves are done with the Cuttlebug and cut with scalloped scissors. I sponged the top edges and added Stickles. There is Crystal Effects on the popsicle. The ball and sentiment are from MFT beach set and the surf board is from a triple surfboard stamp from Denami (I think). The corrugated sand is from a packet of papers at least a decade old I got somewhere. The sky is done with Ballet Blue Ink with a Judikins Color Duster.

White Washing Cardstock

This is a cool technique. Watch it all the way through to see her do it on printed papers too and also the resist version. Click the title of this post and it will take you right to the video.

Surprise from a GW Friend

I mentioned on the GW board that I was looking for this little Imaginisce penguin stamp. I found it many places but the shipping was always outrageous for a single clear stamp. My friend, Elaine, said she would stamp some images and send them. Today in the mail I got a thick envelope and thought , "Oh, goodie! It is from Elaine and I bet those are the images." I went through all my mail saving the best for last. I opened it, and OH JOY!! she sent me the actual stamp!! I am dancing in circles. Watch for card featuring this little guy eating a popsicle.

Elaine, you just made my day!

Oh, and did I mention the ADORABLE card she sent with it? I will post a picture of that one of these days too!

CD Photo Cube!!

This was SO much fun to make with old CD jewel cases. Click the title of this post and it will link you directly to the video tutorial.

I made a few changes though. The 8 x 8 bottom piece would not fit for me so I make it 8 1/6" x 8 1/16" and that solved that problem. I did not use the eyelets on the bottom. I also used glue dots on the bottom of the cube and then set it into the bottom piece and that is holding well. I used glue dots to attach my ribbon strip around the top.

Scroll down, as there are a total of 4 views of the one I made.

July 4 RAK

A reader, Paulie, sent me this July 4 card. Thanks, Paulie!

Notice how she cleverly inked the inside flap of the envelope!

I did not have time to get any July 4 cards done again this year. I did not even make them with my students. Time just crept up on me once again.

Frogs and Butterflies

When my boys were small they loved a song called "Bullfrogs and Butterflies" and this card makes me think of that. All stamp are by Tricia Sentry Clear Stamps except for the background netting which is a Cheesecloth stamp from Cornish Heritage.
